What is NeuroStitches?

NeuroStitches is a Neurodivergent Peer Support Community creating friendships and connections through crochet and knitting.  Think Peer Support Group mixed with a Stitch Night (Aka, Stitch N Bitch/Knit Night, Crafternoon (social knitting and crochet groups).

NeuroStitches is hosted on a private, invite-only Discord Server consisting of:

  • Text, forum, and voice channels

  • Virtual Body doubling and stitch & coffee chat opportunities

  • Monthly and weekly virtual stitch & support group meetings

Who can join?

Anyone over 18 who is neurodivergent (diagnosed, including self-diagnosed, with Autism, ADHD, OCD, Dyslexia, etc) and likes to knit or crochet. Beginner crocheters & knitters are welcome!

Format

The Discord server is private so you can only join by invitation only. Once you complete the sign-up form below, you will be emailed the Discord invitation link.

NeuroStitches is NOT medical treatment, coaching, or legal advice. This is a peer-to-peer support group where we share our experiences to connect and feel accepted in a safe space.

  • Unplanned Events (Voice and Video Channels):

    • There are “Spontaneous Stitching” opportunities as well where you can join a zoom-like video meeting whenever you want and stitch or chat with others. These include:

      • Silent Stitching (Body Doubling)

        • Cameras on, microphones muted. Work or Stitch and body double. This is great for those seeking socializing without the pressure to speak or make conversation.

      • Stitch & Coffee Chat

        • Stitch & drink tea or coffee and chit chat

  • There is never any pressure to have your camera or mic on. Many members prefer to join meetings and contribute to the discussion via text-chat.
